Here is an excerpt from my upcoming PUBLICATION regarding the major doomsday theories and counter-doomsday theories.  I will be releasing Publication 2008 very soon.  The excerpt below is a debunking of Asteroid theories set forth by many theorist.  Their theory that particular asteroids are a CLEAR threat to the well-being of the human race contradicts recent data.  Many sites have been reporting on the recent data by the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard, which gives one the idea that the Asteroid Toutatis is going to be close enough to Earth to cause some global catastrophe on December 12, 2012. Even though I would like to believe this and report it as possible doomsday evidence, I remain objective and examined the data myself. According to the data (which can be found here: (Center for Astrophysics at Harvard), on December 12, 2012 the Asteroid Toutatis will be 0.04633 A.U. away from Earth. Oh my! Only 0.04633 AU! (sarcasm) That seems like such a small number so it must be the doomsday the asteroid. These other sites and doomsday theorists really believe you are unintelligent individuals and use that to feed you false information. We do things differently here at DDIG where we know you are capable and intelligent individuals that deserve non-bias factual information. So back to the information at hand… you might be asking yourself what is an AU? 1 A.U. is the average distance between the center of mass of the Earth and the center of mass of the Sun which comes out to be approximately, 92,955,807 miles or 1.496×10^11meters. Now we can use simple dimensional analysis to see actually how far the Asteroid is from the Earth.

0.04633 AU x 92955807 mi = 4,306,642 Mi away from the Earth.
2012 asteroid ….1 AU

So the Asteroid will be 4.3 x 10^6 mi away from the Earth… is that close? Lets put that in perspective by comparing that to Earth-Moon average distance. The Earth-Moon distance is 238,900 miles apart, meaning that the asteroid will be 18X the distance of the Earth to the Moon. In my opinion, thats not close enough to classify it as a Doomsday possibility… its even stretching it to call it a “close encounter”

Here is a LINK to the article which presents the information as if the Asteroid is going to impact (”cross”) the Earth. This is the source of my frustration towards data manipulating authors.

Beyond that point, lets examine other NEO’s (near-Earth objects). Based on the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard, the data suggests that there are at least 3 known NEO’s < 0.001 AU. The objects are identified by WN5, SB45, and Apophis will be in the Earth’s proximity June 2028, October 2037 and April 2027, respectively. WN5 and SB45 have distances around 0.0015 AU which gives them a distance of around 130,000 miles away from Earth. To put that in prospective, thats half the distance between the Earth and the Moon. Apophis has a distance of an 0.0002318 AU which coverts to 21547 miles away from the Earth! 21,547 miles is REALLY REALLY CLOSE. Could this be our Doomsday asteroid? Ill further examine dates in the Bible to make connections between Aprophis and the fire-filled Earth Biblical prophecies.

According to the Journal of Archeological Science, the crystal skulls, more specifically the two known crystal skulls held at the Brit­ish Mu­se­um and the Smith­so­nian In­sti­tu­tion in Wash­ing­ton are fake.  Scientists believe that the skulls were make after the 19th century.  Scientists came to this conclusion after using electron microscopy to analyse the method of creation of the skulls which unfortunately came out to be made by a rotary tool unavailable at the time of Ancient Mexico.  This concept of the crystal skulls has been seen recently through the new “Indiana Jones” movie and throughout the internet depicting these skulls may lead or prevent destruction of the world.

As In­di­ana Jones rac­es to find an an­cient crys­tal skull in his new mov­ie ad­ven­ture, he might want to take a mo­ment to check its au­then­ticity.

New re­search sug­gests two well-known crys­tal skulls, in the Brit­ish Mu­se­um and the Smith­so­nian In­sti­tu­tion in Wash­ing­ton, are not, af­ter all, from an­cient Mex­i­co. Aca­demics now be­lieve the Brit­ish skull was made in 19th-cen­tu­ry Eu­rope and the Amer­i­can one even later.

The Brit­ish Mu­se­um bought its skull, a life-size carv­ing from a sin­gle block of rock crys­tal, from Tif­fa­ny and Co., New York, in 1897. Its ori­gins were un­known but there were sug­ges­tions it was of an­cient Mex­i­can or­i­gin.

Hu­man skulls worn as or­na­ments and dis­played on racks were known to have fea­tured in Az­tec art. The skull at­tracted much pub­lic at­ten­tion and specula­t­ion and was once thought to have heal­ing pow­ers.

Crys­tal skulls have since fea­tured in many books, ar­ti­cles and films, most re­cently in the new Ste­ven Spiel­berg mov­ie In­di­ana Jones and the King­dom of the Crys­tal Skull.

How­ev­er, there have been doubts about the au­then­ticity of the skull since the 1930s. Now an in­terna­t­ional re­search team has scru­tin­ized the Brit­ish Mu­se­um skull and a larg­er white quartz skull do­nat­ed to the Smith­so­nian in 1992.

Elec­tron mi­cro­scope anal­y­sis for tool marks found both skulls were carved with ro­ta­ry disc-shaped tool, a tech­nol­o­gy the an­cient Mex­i­cans didn’t have. Anal­y­sis of the quartz in the Brit­ish Mu­se­um skull sug­gests it was quar­ried from Bra­zil or Mad­a­gas­car – far out­side the An­cient Mex­i­cans’ trad­ing links.

The team, made up of ex­perts from Car­diff and King­ston uni­ver­s­ities in the U.K., the Brit­ish Mu­se­um and the Smith­so­nian, con­clud­ed that nei­ther skull could have been made in Mex­i­co be­fore the time of Co­lum­bus. They be­lieve the Brit­ish skull was cre­at­ed in Eu­rope in the 19th cen­tu­ry, and the Smith­so­nian’s shortly be­fore it was bought in Mex­i­co City in 1960.

“It is al­ways dis­ap­point­ing when an in­tri­guing ar­te­fact like a crys­tal skull turns out not to be gen­uine,” said Car­diff Uni­ver­s­ity’s Ian Free­stone, a mem­ber of the re­search team. “How­ev­er, it is im­por­tant to be pre­cise about what is au­then­tic and what is fake if we are prop­erly to un­der­stand our past. May­be In­di­ana Jones will have bet­ter luck in his hunt for a real crys­tal skul­l!”

The discovery of a “cosmic clock” in Abeceras de Izcagua of La Palma may lead to findings of future comic events to take place. The “cosmic clock” may possibly predct events that may take place around 2012. According to the article, the “cosmic clock…was instrumental in calculations to mark the equinoxes”.  Further analysis of this “cosmic clock” is needed in order to rule out the possiblity of foresight into future catastrophic events.

Overcrowded in their lower reaches they might be, but the Canary Islands still possess some solitary mountain wilder-nesses, places little visited thanks to their rugged inaccessibility, and which have hardly changed since they were frequented by the pre-colonial aboriginal islanders.

And traces of their presence are still turning up, often in the form of petroglyphs, enigmatic scratched marks on rocks and boulders which held some special significance about which we can only guess today.

The latest find is, say archaeologists, one of the most exciting. They are calling it a cosmic clock, a description guaranteed to get the imagination of any sci-fi fans racing.
But there are no flashing lights and strange dials. The reality, a piece of stone 44 centimetres high and 34 wide, would certainly disappoint them, but the experts are hailing the Summer Stone as a major discovery.

Found on the rarified heights of Cabeceras de Izcagua in La Palma, at an altitude of 2,140metres, on a site inhabited by the Awaras (as the original inhabitants of that island were called), it is thought that the stone was instrumental in calculations to mark the equinoxes. The stone has symbols of the sun facing north-east scratched upon it.

The system used depended upon the alignment of three piles of stones with a facing mountain, from behind which the spring and autumn equinoctial sun rose – and still does.
Strangely enough that mountain is still associated with sky-watching. The Roque de Los Muchachos is the site of a world famous observatory which houses one of the world’s largest telescopes.

According to many internet providers, the internet will seize to exist by 2012. The future internet will be a pay-per-website type of system which a consumer will purchase website packages that allow access to particular websites on the “internet”. For any website that it outside of ones website package circle, consumers will have to pay for that website separately.

Update: Bell Canada and TELUS (formerly owned by Verizon) employees officially confirm that by 2012 ISP’s all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit. These ‘other’ sites would then lose all their exposure and eventually shut down, resulting in what could be seen as the end of the Internet.

Dylan Pattyn *, who is currently writing an article for Time Magazine on the issue, has official confirmation from sources within Bell Canada and is interviewing a marketing representative from TELUS who confirms the story and states that TELUS has already started blocking all websites that aren’t in the subscription package for mobile Internet access. They could not confirm whether it would happen in 2012 because both stated it may actually happen sooner (as early as 2010). Interviews with these sources, more confirmation from other sources and more in-depth information on the issue is set to be published in Time Magazine soon.

According to Cosmos online, dutch scientists believe that a magnetic pole reversal is imminent for Earth and we shouldn’t take this situation lightly. The magnetic field is gradually reducing which will leave the earth venerable to the solar winds. This is troubling due to NASA’s recent discovery that solar winds and solar storms will peak in 2012 (see previous post NCAR Predicts solar peak in 2012)

SYDNEY: A reversal of the Earth’s magnetic poles could happen sooner than we think, according to Dutch scientists who report that the planet’s magnetic field is becoming gradually less stable.

A reversal could affect everything from navigation and communications equipment to the composition of the atmosphere, say experts.

The report, published today in the U.K. journal Nature Geoscience, found that reversals have been far more common in the last 200 million years than they were deep in the planet’s history.

Wandering poles

Researchers, led by Andrew Biggin of the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, made the discovery by analysing rocks formed between 2.45 to 2.82 billion years ago.

The story of the Earth’s magnetic field is written in rocks over time. Because these rocks become ‘magnetised’ at the time of their formation, scientists can discover which direction the poles were facing and how strong the Earth’s magnetic field was at that time.

The magnetic poles wander around the vicinity of the geographic poles all the time – the north magnetic pole currently resides in the Canadian Arctic. However, at relatively regular intervals throughout the 4.5 billion year history of the planet, the magnetic poles have flipped completely. A few thousand years before a reversal, the magnetic field gradually gets weaker; something which could cause problems for inhabitants of the planet.

“The Earth’s magnetic field is important for shielding the atmosphere, and us, from damage caused by the solar wind,” explained Biggin. “It’s also used by us and other species for navigation”. An increase in solar wind would disrupt communications equipment and power grids.

Current records suggest that we are long overdue for our next reversal, he said. “On average, there is a reversal around every 400,000 years, but this varies a lot.” The geological record suggests that the last reversal was around 800,000 years ago.

Furthermore, there is already evidence to show that the field has been weakening over the last few centuries – some archaeological remains suggest that the field was far stronger in the time of the Roman Empire, some 2,000 years ago.

Don’t throw away your compass

Don’t throw away your compass just yet though – major changes may not even happen in our lifetimes. “The reversal process is very unpredictable,” said Biggin. “We could be heading into a reversal in the next few centuries, or we might be waiting another million years”.

Even then, reversal is a slow process, which can take some thousands of years to complete.

But what about the effect on living organisms? Another paper, published in Nature in March suggested that some species that rely on the field for navigation or orientation have taken a knock from pole reversals in the past.

Author David Gubbins, of the University of Leeds in England, said that some single-celled organisms that relied on magnetism to tell up from down likely went extinct during past reversals. Human beings have survived reversals in the past, however, added Gubbins, “so we are likely to come through the next one unscathed.”

Ancient tribe of Maya passed on a legend that tells of the 13 crystal sculls able to save the world from a terrible catastrophe.

Once in 1927 a British archeologist Mitchell-Hedges was able to confirm the Mayan legend through his own discovery: when the man was clearing debris from atop a ruined temple at the ancient Mayan city of Lubaantum his daughter found one such skull made out of pure quartz.

Later a few more of these mysterious artifacts came into possession of people in different parts of the world. Places where the human sized ancient crystal skulls have been found are generally various ruins and many are guarded by descendants of indigenous people throughout the world.

The skulls have mystical qualities: they can bring their owners into the state of hypnosis, cause people to hallucinate or have dreams about ancient Indians. Some say they can even make wishes come true.

According to the Crystal Links research a conservator and restorer Frank Dorland studying one of the skulls discovered that it had zygomatic arches acting as light pipes, using principles similar to modern optics, to channel light from the base of the skull to the eye sockets.

The eye sockets in turn were miniature concave lenses that also transferred light from a source below, into the upper cranium. Finally, in the interior of the skull was a ribbon prism and tiny light tunnels, by which objects held beneath the skull could be magnified and brightened. As a result, when placed upon a source of light, the skull acquired glowing eyes and appeared to be on fire.

Yet the origins and the manufacturing of the skulls remain inexplicable. World Mystery Research Center reports that several of ancient skulls have been brought to Hewlett-Packard, located in the San Francisco area. Hewlett- Packard, long known as a manufacturer of printers and computer systems, has one of the most extensive scientific and crystal research laboratories in the world.

The scientist working at HP, who had a chance to work with some of these ancient crystal skulls were hard pressed to explain how a primitive culture could have carved crystal into such precise shapes and especially against the natural axis of the crystal without the use of sophisticated tools!

Thus far, four types of ancient quartz skulls are known including clear quartz, amethyst (purple), rose quartz (pink) and smoky quartz (from grey to black). It may be that these magic gifts of the ancestors would assist humanity in surviving the doomsday of 2012, as was foretold by the enigmatic Maya civilization.

Repeatedly throughout history people have imagined that the end of the world, or at least the end of the present age, was nigh. This is particularly true in times of plague, famine, unrest, tyranny, and war, which pretty well covers most of human history.

Supposedly people were panicking in the eleventh century, and, more recently, prophets have convinced their naive followers to give up all their worldly goods or even committ mass suicide. But this time is different.

We are nearing the winter solstice, 2012 date forecast as the end of this age by the Mayas, who had remarkably accurate lunar and solar calendars, and fairly advanced mathematics, including the zero concept.

The last 100 years or so has been the bloodiest, the most tragic, in all of history, and that is saying a lot. Never before have we had weapons of mass destruction that can virtually wipe out humanity: nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. These weapons are proliferating into the hands of terrorists and those states that support them, and recombinant DNA technology can potentially create even more deadly germ warfare agents. Never before have we had space flight. Never before have we had anything like the United Nations, which has done absolutely nothing to prevent or even reduce war, terrorism, and democide (its stated purpose) but which serves as the foundation for the dreaded global fascism of the New World Order. And the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 seems to fulfill an ancient Biblical prophecy; when Biblical and Mayan prophecy appear to coincide perhaps we need to take notice. Yet another Biblical prophecy was the so-called “mark of the beast’” without which men could not buy or sell; proposed computer chip implants, the ultimate convenience in a cashless society seem to fit this one pretty well, and can serve, at the very least, to track people if not to control them.

And the timing, the date, and the place of many recent events orchestrated by the global elite seem to point to the end. David Icke has remarked that even if we choose not to believe in sacred geometry and numerology, we should at least understand that the elite take all of this very seriously. If nothing else, such an understanding helps us to predict their next move, and they are becoming increasingly predictable. So let us take a look at the basics of the subject.

The Mayans, and many other ancient peoples, were fascinated by the planet Venus, whose movements form the most accurate clock in the heavens. As Venus orbits closer to the sun and faster than Earth it will pass Earth so that a line can be drawn through the Sun and both planets. If Venus and Earth are on the same side of the Sun this is called an inferior conjunction; if on opposite sides it is a superior conjunction. Either way, the next one will be 583.9 days later, and both planets will be exactly 216 degrees around in their orbits. This is called a synodic cycle. Note that 216 is three times 72, and five times 72 is 360 degrees, a complete circly. A series of five of these cycles takes 7.99 years.A diagram showing the orbits with lines going out from the sun at the conjunctions will have five lines each exactly 72 degrees from the next. If you then draw exterior lines connecting the points of intersection with Earth’s orbit, you will have a regular pentagon like the one in Washington, D.C. the latest addition to the sacred geometry of that city. Draw internal lines from point to point and you have that most powerful of magic symbols, the pentagram, or five pointed star. Note that the ancient Egyptians portrayed stars as having five points, and the human body has five major projections: a head, two arms, and two legs. Here is embodied the key idea of astrology, the connection between us and the stars. As above, so below.

But things get stranger still. The ratio of one of the inner corner-to-corner pentagram lines to any of the outer sides of the pentagon is the Golden Mean: roughly 1.61803 to one. This was beloved by the Greeks, and various ratios in the human body approach this ratio. In most cultures the closer the ratio, the more attractive the person is considered. Then there is the Fibonacci series:1,2,3,5,8,13, 21,55,89,144,etc. Each consecutive number is formed by adding the two preceding, and as you get higher up the series the ratios get closer and closer to the Golden Mean. A spiral formed from these numbers, the Fibonacci Spiral, is found in whirlpools, galaxies, hurricanes, tornadoes, snail shells, rams’ horns, and certain bacteria. If you extend such a spiral at right angles to its plane, you get a helix, as in DNA. And if you are beginning to suspect that this cannot all be coincidence, we’re just getting started. There’s more.

As the Earth turns on its axis every 24 hours, that axis slowly wobbles every 25,920 years. Often called a Great Year, this is almost certainly one of the causes of ice ages. This Great Year is divided into twelve astrological ages, and each of these is 2,160 years long, or ten times the 216 degrees discussed earlier. Every 72 years (that number 72 again) the axis moves one degree around this circle. And if that’s not enough, the average healthy human heart at rest beats 72 times each minute. It would seem that the human body in some way resonates with the solar system and perhaps with the entire universe.

If this isn’t enough, mystics have always taught that, through meditation, the chi or kundalini force, the fundamental energy of consciousness, can be raised from the base chakra up the spinal column to the crown chakra, resulting in the higher state of consciousness called enlightenment. Counting the cervical vertebrae and the ones fused at the base of the spine, we have 33 vertebrae. Note that the thirty third degree is important to freemasons, and that thirty third degree masons like several American presidents have played a major, and sinister role in world affairs. Thirty three is, of course, three times eleven, and the mysterious sunspot cycle is just over eleven years long. As we shall see, multiples of eleven are seen again in the dates and places of the darkest deeds of the global elite.

The twentieth century officially began, of course, in 1900, but little of significance took place that year. More significant is 1914, the year World War One began to make the world safe for fascism. Yet a series of events took place the preceding year, 1913. On the way to enslaving the world, the elite had to begin extinguishing the light of freedom in their New Atlantis, the United States. In 1913 President Woodrow Wilson (the same creature who would later preside over the creation of the League of Nations, the first attempt at global tyranny) secured the passage of the Federal Reserve Act, giving America a national banking system, like the Bank of England and elswehere. This consortium of private bankers were given control of the money supply and interest rates, a sure recipe to make the rich richer and to enslave and impoverish the rest of us. Wilso also pushed through a constitutional amendment, allowing for direct election of US senators, who, hitherto, had been selected by their state senates. Seemingly “democratic,” this weakened states’ rights and centralized power. And Wilson gave America an income tax, via an amendment that was never legally ratified. And few are aware that, in the US, no tax law based on that illegal amendment was ever passed. Americans are rutinely jailed for violating a nonexistent law based on a legally nonexistent amendment. And note that thirteen, as in 1913, is a magic number.

If 1913 is taken to be the first year of a century, what is its final year? You guessed it:2012.

More magic numbers appear. The global elite chose to end World War One in 1918, and eighteen is the sum of seven and eleven, two magic numbers. The ratio of the height to any of the base sides of the Great Pyramid at Giza is exactly seven to eleven. Divide the height of the pyramid into two of the base sides, or seven into twenty two, and you have pi out to two decimal places. And they chose to end the war at eleven in the morning on November (eleventh month) the eleventh. Three elevens total thirty three.

Thirty third degree freemason Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who turned America into a socialist state and betrayed us at Pearl Harbor, took office in 1933. His chosen successor, Harry Truman, was also a thirty third degree mason, and was America’s thirty third president. These two gentlemen gave us the wondrous United Nations and nuclear weapons. The first one was tested at Trinity Site in New Mexico, almost exactly on the thirty third parallel, as is Nagasaki (but not Hiroshima).

And then there is the number 1947, or 19.47. Richard Hoagland has pointed out that if the simplest polyhedron, a regular tetrahedron bounded by four equilateral triangles, is of the right size to be placed exactly within a rotating sphere like the Earth, and one vertex is at the South Pole, the other three vertices will be exactly 120 degrees apart and some 19.47 degrees north of the equator. The ancient Mexican site of Teotihuacan is at this latitude, and Hoagland has pointed out that upwellings of volcanic energy cluster near this latitude, like the great Hawaiian volcanoes on Earth, the Great Red Spot on Jupiter, and the immense Olympus Mons volcano on Mars.

In 1947 freemason Harry Truman turned America into a militarist state with the National Defense Act and a peacetime draft. And that year Kenneth Arnold and others saw nine (another magic number) crescent shaped UFOs. That year also saw the bizarre UFO sighting at Maury Island in Washington State, and, of course, Roswell. The Roswell crash site is almost exactly on the thirty third parallel, and the crash took place on July (seventh month) the fourth (seven plus four equals eleven), the date chosen by America’s Founding Fathers, most of them masons, for our Declaration of Independence in 1776. And what are the odds of a UFO crash near a very small town that was the home both of rocketry pioneer Robert Goddard and future Lunar astronaut and mystic Edgar Mitchell? Both were living there at the time of the crash. I am afraid we have run out of coicidences.

East of Roswell is Dallas, also almost exactly on the thirty third parallel, and JFK was killed on November (eleventh month) the twenty second, and eleven plus twenty two is thirty three.

Nine, as in 9/11, is also a magic number, and one of the planes that day was allegedly flight eleven, and another was flight seventy seven (seven times eleven). And don’t forget that the train bombings in Spain were on March (third month) eleventh.

Like I said, we ran out of coincidences quite a while back there, and we now are suffering from the Chinese curse: we live in interesting times. And those times appear to be getting very, very short.

The astrology of 2008 puts us onto the final approach to 2012. Turn on your radar, buckle up, chuck the ginger ale, and drop your landing gear: the Age of Technology is approaching the runway.

The year 2012 has been tossed around as something special since Jose Arguelles created the Harmonic Convergence in 1987. With that event, he called attention to the Mayan Long Count, a calendar of approximately 1.87 million days used by the Maya in what is now Mexico and Guatemala. Something called the 13th baktun ends on December 21, 2012, concluding a 5,125-year cycle. Notably, this cycle predates the Maya, themselves, whose mathematicians dealt in very long spans of time extending before and after their own existence.

More recently, author John Major Jenkins proposed an astronomical theory for why the Mayans chose our particular era for the cycle to end. He suggests that it involves the alignment of the position of the winter solstice Sun with the dark band that runs through the center of the Milky Way galaxy (called the Road to Xibalba).

Due to the precession effect (that is, the very slow wobble of the Earth on its axis), the winter solstice point gets a little earlier every year (advancing a bit more than a degree per century). The same is true for the first day of all the seasons. The precession effect is usually used to measure the astrological/astronomical age. We are familiar with the concept from the Age of Aquarius theme, wherein the Aries Point (the first degree of the Western zodiac or the first day of spring), is moving into the constellation Aquarius.

Jenkins asks a very good question. Maybe it’s not the constellation that the Aries Point is in that’s the true marker of our cosmic alignment, as we usually think. Maybe it’s the point 90 degrees away, where Capricorn begins. Maybe that’s where we need to be looking for information about an accurate calculation of the cosmic epoch. Most Planet Waves readers are familiar with the Aries Point and its astonishing connections between personal and global events.

Jenkins proposes that we have one of the cardinal points (the first degrees of the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) aligning with something tangible: the dark band running through the Galactic Core. Notably, it is the last of the four points, involving Capricorn—the sign of corporations, government, and the structure of society. All of the 2012 theories, whether friendly, cataclysmic or both (most are not so friendly, by the way), involve changes to the structure of society, whatever else they may touch upon.

This is a cool theory. It helps explain why the Aries Point (which is shorthand for all four of the cardinal points or the four directions) is so hot these days. It actually (in his theory) involves the Capricorn Point aligning with this dark band in the center of the galaxy, which then brings in the Aries Point. When events focus on the Aries Point, we get an idea of why it’s so dependably connected to events that ripple through the lives of millions, and which we tend to feel so personally (an example of an Aries Point event was September 11, 2001). Jenkins’s theory provides a comprehensible link between Western and Mayan astrology, something that has been lacking throughout this whole discussion. Some astrologers have looked at that 2012 chart and claimed it contains nothing special; hence, 2012 cannot be that important. (Just because someone does not understand a chart does not mean it does not have meaningful information.)

Enter: Pluto in Capricorn

What has not been discussed so widely are outer planet movements leading up to that date. The first of them—and perhaps the most significant—is Pluto entering Capricorn, a process that begins in about two weeks. That is another way of saying that Pluto is aligning with the position of the winter solstice Sun; that is the first degree of Capricorn. This places it on one of the cardinal points, as well as in aspect to the other three.
Obviously, Pluto in Capricorn is going to have a profound effect on the structure of society: on all Capricorn institutions, from corporations to the government to the banking system. True, this will affect individuals, but individuals tend to learn faster than groups and companies. We will all go through a series of individual initiations, but the key to some form of success here will be awareness about group initiation.

There are some companies, institutions, and governments that will do very well—the ones that can loosen up their structures, both physical and ideological, and flex with the changes. These will surprise you—when you hear the story of something that seemed stuffy and old suddenly becoming a progressive leader of some kind. Indeed, Pluto in Capricorn is all about leadership. It is about building and acting on the vision that has been developing during the years of Pluto in Sagittarius (1995-present).

Pluto’s ingress to Capricorn is attended by some interesting Mars transits. At the time of the ingress in late January, Mars is in a loose (but significant) opposition—in the process of making three exact ones. The third contact is March 7. So we get Mars and Pluto working the solstice points (from Cancer and Capricorn), which feels a little like flint on a piece of iron.

Then, shortly after Pluto ingresses Capricorn to stay (no more retrogrades into Sagittarius), Mars makes an exact conjunction to Pluto around the winter 2008 solstice. So we get a lot of personal fire (of Mars) added to the cosmic and hormonal fire (of Pluto) aspecting the 2012 region of the sky.

Lunar Nodes in the Middle Fixed Signs

The Aries Point usually involves the cardinal signs. But something called Uranian astrology says that 135 degrees away from the cardinal points, we have the middle of the fixed signs. This is the sesquiquadrate aspect, which is described as a trigger aspect. A 45-degree aspect works in a similar way. The lunar nodes are now working their way backwards through Leo and Aquarius. The annular eclipse on February 7, 2008, falls right in the middle of Aquarius, setting off the Aries Point from 45 degrees away in Aquarius.

Saturn in Libra 2009-12
Here is an exciting one. Saturn has just entered Virgo, so we’re not quite ready to be thinking about Saturn arriving in Libra—but it’s not so far away. Saturn arrives there for the first time on Oct. 29, 2009; that is, late next year. A planet entering one of the cardinal signs puts it into direct contact with the Aries Point and the Capricorn solstice point—in this case, directly opposite. Pluto is still in very early Capricorn at that point, which means we have a Saturn-Pluto square aspecting the Aries Point and the Cap solstice point. This will be positively thrilling, all the more so because Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn and has extraordinary power in Libra (it is said to be “exalted” in this sign).

This is a turning point, one that will call attention to the overall theme of the Pluto in Capricorn era. It is a kind of catch-up point. The Saturn-Pluto trine (involving the earthy signs) does not necessarily mean that the two energies are not going to combine in some volatile or provocative ways—trines can be incredibly influential. But the Saturn-Pluto square is a dimension shift, one that will emphasize a major shift in structure of some kind.
What we generally fail to recognize when we look at changes in society is that society is all about the relationships that people have with one another. We are good at pretending that our relationships with our coworkers has nothing to do with the relationships between companies or nations, but these things are holographic models of one another. With Saturn in Libra involved, we need to consider how the structure of our personal relationships relates to Capricorn—the structure of society. Marriage, for example, is primarily an economic structure, based in law, not emotions.

Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn is—among other things—about feeling the connection between our relationships and the structure of society.

The Changes of 2010
In 2010, there are three changes that mark a watershed. The first is that Saturn continues its ingress to Libra, retrograding back to Virgo and then making a final ingress in July. This means that the Saturn-Pluto square unfolds throughout this year.

Second, Chiron ingresses Pisces. The last time Chiron ingressed Pisces was on the day past the inauguration of John F. Kennedy, commencing the `60s. Chiron will have spent about six years in Aquarius, a very different energy. Chiron, a potent focus of awareness, will be shifting from the most airy air sign to the most watery water sign—a difference we will be able to feel.

Then for the most interesting change of the year, Uranus begins its ingress to Aries, going right over the Aries Point. Uranus is the planet of revolution, invention, disruption, and forward-thinking. Contact with the Aries Point strongly implies some kind of cultural revolution. In other words, the natives will be getting restless.

The Uranus-Pluto Square of 2012-15
All of this is just a warm up, believe it or not. The grand finale is the Uranus-Pluto square of 2012-15. That is to say, Pluto will be in early Capricorn and Uranus will be in early Aries. That is a 90-degree relationship, and by mid-2012, it is exact. Most meetings between the outer planets make three exact contacts over about nine months. Somewhat incredibly, the Uranus-Pluto square beginning in 2012 makes seven exact contacts through 2015—something that I have never seen or heard of before with any outer-planet aspect.

In other words, the two planets will remain in exact square for three years. Based on his story of the history of the Western world, Richard Tarnas in his book, Cosmos and Psyche, has demonstrated that quadrature alignments of Uranus and Pluto—the conjunction, squares and opposition—are times of social upheaval, progress, and even revolution. This is indeed one of the most predictable combinations of planets, and one of the most powerfully focused on actual progress. The `60s, a time of artistic, social, and economic process, is perhaps the best and fortunately most memorable expressions of this aspect. Though there was more to the `60s than this, the alchemy of that time was typical of what happens nearly every time these two planets align.

Based on the historical data he presents in his book, Tarnas gives this aspect a window of action that begins this year. So it is part of that final approach to 2012. Yet based on this highly unusual event of Uranus square Pluto, 2012 itself seems to be a beginning rather than an ending—a time when we will finally see something vaguely equivalent of power to the people.

The only problem is, the people are going to have a reason to revolt. The years immediately ahead of us do not appear to be a time of equity and harmony, but rather a time of corporations and governments consolidating their power, even as they collapse under their own weight.

Doc­tors are run­ning out of treat­ments for trau­ma vic­tims and crit­ic­ally ill pa­tients be­cause of in­fec­tions from drug re­sist­ant mi­crobes – even af­ter re­sort­ing to medicines thrown out 20 years ago be­cause of se­vere side ef­fects, sci­en­tists are re­port­ing.

“Doc­tors in many coun­tries have gone back to us­ing old an­ti­bi­otics that were aban­doned… be­cause their tox­ic side ef­fects were so fre­quent and so bad,” said Mat­thew Fala­gas of the Alfa In­sti­tute of Bi­o­med­i­cal Sci­ences in Ath­ens, Greece and Tufts Uni­vers­ity School of Med­i­cine in Bos­ton, Mass.

“But su­per­bugs like Acine­to­bac­ter have chal­lenged doc­tors all over the world by now be­com­ing re­sist­ant to these old­er and con­sid­ered more dan­ger­ous med­i­cines.” Fala­gas is set to re­port the find­ings at April 1 at the So­ci­e­ty for Gen­er­al Mi­cro­bi­ol­o­gy’s annual meet­ing this week in Ed­in­burgh.

“Even col­istin,” an an­ti­bi­ot­ic disco­vered 60 years ago, “has re­cently been used as a sal­vage rem­e­dy to treat pa­tients with Acine­to­bac­ter in­fec­tions,” said Fala­gas. “And it was suc­cess­ful for a while, but now it oc­ca­sion­ally fails due to re­cent ex­ten­sive use that has caused the bac­te­ria to be­come re­sist­ant, lead­ing to prob­lem su­per­bugs… re­sist­ant to all avail­a­ble an­ti­bi­otics.”

Re­cent work by Greek re­search­ers has re­vealed Acine­to­bac­ter is more deadly than pre­vi­ously thought, Fala­gas added: it does­n’t just cause se­vere in­fec­tions, it kills un­ex­pectedly high num­bers of pa­tients. Acine­to­bac­ter can cause pneu­mo­nia, skin and wound in­fec­tions and some­times men­in­gi­tis.

The sci­en­tists iden­ti­fied a range of drug re­sist­ant strate­gies be­ing used by the bac­te­ria, in­clud­ing the pro­duc­tion of chem­i­cals which can in­ac­ti­vate the drug treat­ments, cell pumps that can bail out the drug mo­le­cules from in­side bac­te­ri­al cells mak­ing them in­ef­fec­tive, and mu­tat­ing the drug tar­get sites. This makes the drug mo­le­cules miss spe­cif­ic re­gions of the bac­te­ri­al cells that they were aim­ing for.

“There have al­ready been se­vere prob­lems with crit­ic­ally ill pa­tients due to Acine­to­bac­ter bau­man­nii in­fec­tions in var­i­ous coun­tries,” said Fala­gas. “In some cases we have simply run out of treat­ments and we could be fac­ing a pan­dem­ic.”
